Programs

The programs at the Ecumenical Center are broken up in three components, each providing a specific focus to an area of development necessary for students to transform into servant-leaders.

I LEAD - leadership is about making decisions that will benefit those we serve. But before we can make good decisions we must first be exposed to different experiences and learning opportunities that will, in turn, inform our decision making. With this in mind, the Ecumenical Center provides opportunities for students to hear different perspectives, to learn, and to understand the world around them, so they can, in fact, make good decisions in the years and decades to come.

I SERVE - encompasses programs that bring people together in their desire to connect with one another, learn from one another and develop a community and a unique sense of belonging. This programs are carefully planned to sprinkle information and experiences that will provide those “aha” moments and help students remove themselves from the center of their world and put another there.

I AM - discovering who we are, what we stand for, what makes us tick and what our values are is essential to servant leadership. This journey toward finding and knowing our authentic selves, our “true north,” our moral compass, begins with our ability to stop, reflect and seek deeper meaning in our life. This is at the core of our Center’s existence, and for this reason we consistently, on a daily basis, encourage our students to ask WHY.

Many of our past and present programs are listed in the column to your left. Feel free to explore them. See what you like. Tell us if you have ideas for other programs. And, most importantly, given the quantity of programs, activities and meetings we host annually (over 800 in 2009/2010) — please let us know if you are looking for something specific and its not listed in here. We most likely can help!
