Welcome      Our Programs      Service Trips
Service Trips

You are invited for a week of personal, intellectual, social and spiritual growth!

The Ecumenical Center is sponsoring a six-day alternative Spring Break service trip (March 14-20, 2010) to the Black Hills in South Dakota. There, staying at the Outlaw Ranch, you will have an opportunity to learn about service, personal relationships and yourself, while understanding and helping the Native American tribe of Lakotas with their various projects. That's not all we will be doing, though. We will also be visiting and enjoying some of South Dakota's most beautiful landscapes and parks (think: Mount Rushmore!)

This is a unique opportunity to be a part of a life changing service experience. Develop your leadership skills. Broaden your understanding of local, national and global community. Discover how to make positive changes. Experience a life and perspective different from yours. Enjoy. Have fun. Meet other people from UWGB. Visit a new culture. We could go on and on, but what better way to understand the impact than to experience it yourself?

Due to the limited number of trip participants, if you are interested in attending this trip, you will need to fill out an application and then be interviewed. If accepted to the trip, you will be required to attend a pre-trip preparation, after-trip reflection and evaluation, and also, in one way or another, showcase your experience from this trip (i.e. students in the past have given a presentation, shared a picture poster-board, etc)

Worried about how much it will cost? Don't! The cost of the trip is only $100 for 6 days of spectacular experiences. If selected, however, we will ask you to participate in fun-raising -- a way to raise some money through letter writing, fundraising dinners, etc. that would offset the cost of the trip.

SPACE IS LIMITED! To apply online, click here. For a hard-copy application, click here or visit the Ecumenical Center. The DEADLINE for applications is February 1st, 2010. However, special consideration will be given to applicants that submit their application before January 15, 2010.
